What proposed changes in the building are related to fire/safety compliance and ADA compliance? New accessible restrooms, compliant stairways, new elevator, automatic sprinkler system, fire alarm system, some doors and closets, electrical service modifications, etc.
What are the costs associated with these changes? These costs have not been separated out from the general costs already provided earlier.
Why have we been able to not meet these compliances until now? Once remodeling begins in the building, we are required to bring the area of remodeling into compliance with all current codes and requirements.
Are all of these changes required? By whom? Where do I find this information? Yes .... by the International Building Code-2009 and the State of Iowa (Fire Marshal's Office)
